What I do care about is when they then all bunch up. Let those who DO want to make progress pass. Leave gap between you and car in front if you've no intention of passing on an open road.

Also, if you are aware of a convoy behind you, pull into a layby for a minute, let a load pass then continue on. It's called being aware of what's going on around you.
