I know everyone will have different opinions on this, but I dont really see the use of the headlight washers....at least not on my S2000. She gets washed regularly enough not to worry about the lights getting gunked over. If anything, I find it annoying how they spray every time I want to wash the windscreen and my lights are on. Go through tons of screenwash as most of it seems to go onto the lights and over my fenders.
But hey, thing of personal opinion.

I do 54 miles a day in mine during the week, so a few fair miles between washes so they are handy for keeping the headlights clean. It definitely makes a difference because you can see the clarity of the light improved in the reflection of the tailgate of the car in front. Also, my driver's side windscreen washer jet isn't working at the moment, so that overspray you mention from the headlamp washer onto the windscreen is being relied on at the moment!

Maybe time to fix it? Got some Jazz ones to go onto mine. Hopefully fit this weekend.
And yeah, I know what you mean by those miles. I do 60miles each way (120 a day) and use the washers on my civic. But S2 is my weekend toy.

It only started on tuesday, give me a chance! Will be collecting a new one way valve from honda tomorrow, hoping that will sort it. I've noticed a lot of that on this forum how people put their cars into hibernation for winter and only use them as weekend cars but while I really like mine I don't think it's special enough or too compromised for weekend/summer use only. Then again there are some people on here that have gone to town with engine/chassis mods that I appreciate could make it a less appealing option as a daily.

The use of headlight washers is nothing to do with you, it's to stop the film diffusing the light from your HIDS and blinding other road users, removing them is antisocial, just like fitting a decat.

Still your car your MOT.

Sorry, dont know if I am mis-reading this or just not understanding....."Stop film diffusing the light..."
To my knowledge, headlight washers are to "clean" the headlights. The S2000 one works on the theory that if your windscreen is dirty and needs cleaning, your headlights probably needs cleaning as well. Don't believe it has anything to do with light pattern / scatter.
