Default Snorkel

Hi There, how you all doing?

I was wondering whether you think getting one them muz air intake snorkel things is worth while?

It might be my imagination but i'm sure my car is more reponsive when the engine/outside temp is cooler and i've heard this may help.

That muz sight only has them for pre 2004 cars and they are sold out. Also $395 for a bit of plastic? Whats that all about?

Anyway, whats the general consensus. And where do you get em...cheap?

ebay is your friend if you're after saving pennies, carbon fibre available for under a ton shipped from HK. If you've got an 04 you will need to remove the 'bumper bar' I believe. Muz does 04+ ones but I understand many have had fitment issues. I cut my own bonnet to ensure perfect closure and a very neat job I did too.

God, i don't think i want to go chopping bits off my car. Are there any other solutions? Why is there a difference in the 04 model?

Great improvement imo. The 04 has a bar which goes across the front, therefore a snorkel has to 'go round' it. There is a plate you can get which encloses the existing air funnel and blocks it off from the hot air (not a rad plate). No idea what it's called but they cost

Muz does appear to have withdrawn the 04+ model from sale.

I have two, neither of which fit. I'd steer clear of that particular one.

Have you got a picture of what you have done?

Has anybody else tried this or some other way? Did you find the improvements that Jel found?
