i would build it for 2.4

2.2 has been done here in the uk but from what i recall it did not last long

2.4 would be awesome, well i know it is, as was chasing a dutch guy around Spa who had done it, the Torque was amazing

Forgive my ignorance, I have done some research and have some knowledge but why would one go for a stroker kit rather than a turbo or supercharge build or am I missing some point?

I currently have a 90k mile MY00 that I use as my daily driver.

I picked up a bottom end yesterday that I can work on at my leisure off the car. My intention is to build up a rock solid new bottom end that I can then drop into the car later on in the year.

My original thinking was that I can build it up using the best parts I can source and keep it as an insurance policy if you will. My idea being that building something fresh would be a lot cheaper in the long run than going out and spending £2500 on a replacement from a breaker that is a fairly unknown quantity.

I'm now thinking that if I'm going to be buying new crank, rods, pistons etc then why not investigate the stroker kit route while I'm about it?

There's nothing to stop me bolting some kind of FI to the finished lump once it's in the car and if I do, then I can be more confident with trying to put big power through it.

If anyone has any advice or guidance on the subject I'd be very keen to hear it. I've built a fair few bike engines in my time so I'm fairly spanner handy so to speak and the vtec Honda motor fascinates me hence this little project.

I also have a very understanding wife and a large workshop (although estate agents call it a dining room technically lol). My eldest son (12) is also a petrol head and is quite excited by the idea of helping with the build so it'll be something for us to do together when we're not rebuilding his motox bike.
