Default Soft Top Control Module

Just a quick couple of questions...does anyone know where the soft top control module is located and how easy it is to get to and get out?

Also at a guess once this comes out I can't operate the top unless its manually...and does the soft top need to be up or down if I plan on removing it with the frame intact so I can just bolt it straight onto my new car?

Thanks,

Alex

Its located behind the passenger footwell panel, pop this off, needs a good yank sometimes.

it looks like this:

One 12mm screw holding it on.

Quick last question if I may;

I am going to be swapping my knackered soft top control module over with the above (Alex was kindly retrieving his for me, hence the above thread).

As I am entirely inept in such matters, could I ask for your guidance in swapping the modules over please?

1. The panel I understand just pulls off (carefully!). Presumably I just start with teh bottom attachment points and gently yank them off, workinf my way up.
2. Can I just unplug the old module and plug in the new one (plus bolt out/in of course)?
3. Should I (not?) disconnect the battery first? Presumably ignition off. Someone elsewhere said they blew their module when fiddling with headunit electrics so concerned not to cause myself any more problems!

Cheers all!
