Default Soft top split

As you will see I have part of the roof to the left of the glass window splitting. Would a normal strong superglue be good enough to fix this?

Hi Bud,

Unfortunately that looks pretty extreme. Never seen that before!!

Looks like you, Me and Dan are taking a trip to Swansea next year for new roof??

P.S. regarding Mega-meet convoy.... really not sure what time we are going to get back home from France trip, so I'll text you early on the Friday morning to let you know what time I'm setting off.

Cheers

You could try some black silicone sealant in there then a pair of thin wooden strips wrapped in clingfilm spring clamped to hold it together whilst it cures, then trim the excess back with a sharp blade.

Might see what I can get from DIY shop tomorrow then. That plastic stuff in the middle is all dry and flakey looks like a glue or something.

It is just the lining this. It's not as far as I can tell causing much of a problem, yet.

Not sure if you will get the black silicone in a DIY place, but as I recall you can get it from halfords.

Having just used Stormsure on my hood, I would think that was your best answer as it is waterproof!

Actually just used that stuff on a small split on the top of the hood. Totally forgot about it as I put the tube in the freezer after using it as per the instructions.

I'll move all that old dry rubble out first then pack it with stormsure

Stormsure would be by bet too, but it's more of a patching than sealing agent, if it doesn't work, try wetsuit repair glue - I used that on my mx-5 with good results. (also gutter sealant! But it's too messy)

Repair looks ok with stormsure. Will do until a trip to Swansea next year :-)

Will await your text Friday morning!
Maybe will can put some word out to others on the route that we plan a small detour to the Evo Triangle on the way down. If you are still up for this?
