Hi all

I've had a new S2000 (Moon Rock) on order for the last 4 months - hopefully tomorrow is the day I finally get it! I'm going nuts at the moment, after all the delays (1 months worth) and hassle with the dealers/PCP schemes/insurance i'm a gibbering wreck. The desktop wallpaper is taunting me! The cover note has arrived at the dealers and am just waiting for a phone call to confirm everything for tomorrow

The dealer is like 120 miles from my house but I don't really care, it will help the 600 mile run in before I can vtec (I've got a CTR atm so I don't know how I will cope without vtec for 600 miles - it's put a smile on my face every day for the last 3 years with the civic )

My coworkers are taking great pleasure to point out that the ice scraping season has just begun and that it's a really impractical car for commuting (I travel a lot with my job). BUT I DON'T CARE - I'll cope!

Cool, we're Impreza converts. Took ours in this week too.

Have fun and watch the rear! I grew up with RWD, my other half (who is a little younger) only had MK3 escorts to play with so Im chuckling inside at the thought of her first 'reversal' on the local roundabout

Enjoy, you already know the motor a screamer then!

Me too.
Hoping to collect new '06 black next week. Until it's in my garage I will not believe that at last I own my dream sports car. Please please let it be that my dream will not be shattered.

No VSA but it happened to be the the colour/interior I wanted & at a brilliant discount and a very fair trade in for my MX-5.
Owning the Mazda for 10 years I'm well used to a rear wheel drive with a power to weight ratio that easily gets you into trouble on bends & wet roads.
However I shall NOT be complacent & will treat the Honda with respect.

The contributors on this Forum have been brilliant when it comes to all manner of advice regarding modifications and running in procedures.

I picked it up this morning at 10:30. The lady walked me outside and said "here it is" whilst walking towards a hideous lime green/yellow version and just before I started to panic she pointed behind it It was the right colour, had the VSA, mats and CD changer (although if i'd seen how much of the boot it takes up I may not have ordered it!)

It was a part exchange so I had to say goodbye to my CTR I was actually really upset (soft sod!) I've had it from new 3 years ago and in that time i've put 65k miles on the clock and hit the red line _every single day_. Apart from servicing it's never been near a dealer for any work. Awesome car

The S had a full tank (nice surprise) so I pulled out of the dealer's and set off 100 miles to home. The first thing I noticed was the engine note. Oh my god that sounds amazing even at sub 6k rpm - I can't wait for 600 miles so I can hear it at 8k + The second thing I noticed was how totally different it drives around the twisties. Hard to describe but the steering felt different and it felt like I was being pushed around in a different way. I loved being low down and it felt great being pushed along rather than pulled - I was grinning like an idiot all the time...well still am...

The last thing I was worried about was my driveway as it slopes down very severely. As you move from the flat pavement to the drive my CTR was 1cm from bottoming out. The S2000 was a few cm lower on paper but had a shorter wheelbase so I was praying that it would fit...and it does - just!

Once on my drive I thought I would find the "secret compartment" I'd read about as I couldn't even find space to shove my ice scraper. Nope. Nothing. Doesn't exist. I'd read it was even in the manual so I opened that and not a word about in in there, just an arrow to the centre console saying "luggage space" which I already knew about. Searched the forum again...ah...some secret switch in the centre console. I still was thinking "this really is a wind up" right until it popped open I can see why people have owned them for 3 years without finding it! It must be some sort of in joke now as they must realize noone can find it without help but still resist the urge to spell it out in the manual.

Anyway, ramble over, I'm just chuffed to bits and can't believe it's sitting on my drive and had to share

I do miss the kick from my 00 car.
Though I'm hoping the super charger will redress that (and some )
