Default Sorted and to be sorted

Following on from a few threads on here I did some maintanace, the clutch pin greasing thread was easy to follow and I did indeed find no grease and a little mettal nipple on my pin.

A word of warning though the piston will try to extract itself from the slave cylinder gradualy but a zip tie round the unit stops this from happening, I dont know if this is the case with all s2ks but my 1999 example certainly did it.

with the pin ground and sanded smooth and some high temp bearing grease applied I refitted the parts with a bit of jiggling around, I also greased the clucth fork pin and arms.

A quick test drive and the clutch seems slightly smoother and lighter.

I also did the electrical tape round the roof hooks trick which got rid of a lot of the wind noise I had been experiancing at motorway speeds

I still have a slight rumbling vivrating noise which only apears to be auidable inside the car with the roof up, its present in every gear and dosent change with engine rpm, having the clutch in or out dosent seem to affect it either, it seems to be slightly louder when the car is cold but that may be my imagination.

It's coming from the front of the transmition tunnel or near that area, I dont think its engine , clutch ot gearbox as rpm gear or position of the clutch have no effect on it, I may have somthing loose in or arround the transmition tunnel although when I was under the car today I couldnt see anything obvious.

I'll have the covers off the tunnel for a quick look soon.

No, its got to be black! White doesn't have the correct hook covering, wind noise reducing properties. Red is somewhere in between

Is it related to engine speed?

I have similar and its coming from the left of the car, I did suspect it was a rear wheel bearing (due to a sticking caliper, and therefor overheated bearing). However changing the hub didn't help matters.
