Sorry I know this probebly been covered before in part.

Is it better to change the headunit first, or the speakers what is the most noticeable difference, i only have money to do one or the over at the moment.

Also has anyone tried this (Alpine: CDE-9881RB - CD/MP3 Tuner)

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/p...ts_id/5780.html

Thoughts anyone will it be ok in the S and what matches best the Red or the Amber to the S?

Your link doesn't work!

I'd go for the headunit first IMHO, then the speakers.

save your money until you can do both. The OEM headunit has pathetic output so will struggle to drive a decent speaker. I guess you could just change the HU for now (have you factored in the cost of an adapter for the fingertip controls?).

I have an Alpine HU (mp3/CD) and the dash controls connector interface that I am going to put on sale soon if you're interested. And other ICE bits and bobs.

Saying that, I've heard people say a change of head unit makes a reasonable difference, especially with the newer speaker sets (with headrest speaker & door tweeters etc), which is what I plan to do come April!

Mine only has the door speakers, dont know really what to change with the speaker setup, want it so it look original so I can just put the old headunit in it when is time to Sell.

I uprated the HU on both my S's (the same Sony in both) but not the speakers. Big difference in both, plus on my old one I no longer had to used tapes!!!

Is it the alpine adapter or an aftermarket one as i know the alpine one can be problematic?
