Speaker upgrades
I''ve searched the forum(s) but can't find the answer I'm looking for
Now I have my ipod connector and the later door cards with the tweeters, I want to upgrade the door speakers.
I think they are 6 1/4" or 6 1/2" diameter - are there any depth restructions or will most component speakers fit?
If anyone has any recommendations for a good set of speakers.....

I've just fitted a pair of Focal performance components. Unless they are very shallow speakers you'll either need to butcher the speaker baskets or make some mdf rings as I had to.
Stock speakers are 6.5 inches but my new 6.5 inch speakers looked slightly bigger, so they could be 6 inch. But 6.5 inch speakers will fit fine. .
Budget £30-40 for some sound deadening too. It makes a huge difference.

Loads of decent speakers available - how much do you want to spend?
Have a look in the electronics forum too https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/forum/26-s2000-electronics/

The OEM door speakers are not very deep so you may need a spacer ring to ensure there's no fouling with the window mechanism. I have Alpine component speakers and my spacers are made from hi tech MDF
