Coaxial Speakers
Has anyone fitted upgraded coaxial speakers to an S2000? I really don't know much about car audio, but from what I've been told, fitting component speakers would be best. Unfortunately my car is a pre-02 and doesn't have the door cards with space for tweeters.
Are upgraded coaxial speakers much better than stock? Or is it worth the hassle of fitting components and trying to find somewhere to fit the tweeters? Search is broken still

Yep, i changed my (horrible, paper cone) stock speakers for a set of Alpine Type G co-axials and the difference is day & night!
While you've got the door card off you might as well dynomat the door as well (less road noise, also aids the speakers).

You can replace the doorcards easily enough if you want to fit components, and they will be a good improvement.
However, there's little point in replacing the OEM speakers unless you're changing the Head Unit too/first.
Lots of answers in the electronics forum here as well: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=26
I have heard a pre-02 car with some Focal coaxial speakers and it sounded ok, but that was with a different head unit.

Sorry I should have mentioned, I have already changed the headunit. It did improve the sound but to be honest there is a lot of distortion at higher volumes.
Thanks for the link to the electronics forum, I always forget there's more to this site! Think I will go for the coaxials, components just seem too much hassle and I don't think I'm into my music enough to notice the difference!
