Unless you'll be running the car a load hotter, I'd not bother (FI, higher revs or higher CR).

Things like the thermostat / rad cap are things I'd add once you are having issues. They are ways of resolving issues.

I needed to swap mine, as the stock rad cap doesn't fit on the Koyo rad (different design). I later found out the Koyo is the same design as my old Toyota, I could have used a spare one I had. D'oh.

IIRC Mugen recommend that you upgrade the rad cap, oil cap and rad switch if you are using a Mugen ECU.

I suspect that would be the same for other ECUs

AJ - I've fitted the J's Thermostat, rad switch and Rad cap to mine in anticipation of fitting my gears which does actually mean that I will be running at slightly higher revs.

It may be overkill though

Suspect that's for money making reasons

Guess its working better in terms of ECU settings with a cooler engine.

I can see why the cooling mods are needed for track days, and that's what the Mugen ECU is intended for.

You have little faith mark , this does not mean i want to buy the item I'm purely interested by the differences/benefits if any such modification would bring and the pro's and con's.
Sorry mate, maybe sounded a bit harsh.

It just read like you were thinking the new ECU was going to make the car work that much harder, that a new rad cap was needed! I still think you may be a bit dissapointed by the results from the ECU, so i'd do that first and see how you get on.
