Spring Spacer removed at 70000 miles
We've just got back from a driving holiday over in Kendal with Colin and Beccy from the board. Pics to follow on another thread later.
On the way over there I noticed that my brakes were terrible at high speed and as I'd just had the front pads changed 5000 miles ago and the rears changed 500 miles ago I thought I'd better get it checked. So I popped in to John Wilding Honda in Kendal Top dealership
Apparently my usual dealer had put new pads on completely worn discs and the ridges on the rear discs were preventing the rear pad from touching more than 1cm of disc
More worryingly, whilst they were in there, they found a spring spacer still on my near side front spring
Now I have a service history with my car that says, for each of the 9 services, suspension components were visually checked. WTF is going on with Honda? I'll be speaking to HUK on Monday about this but I'm so angry about the fact that I've been driving around in a potentially lethal car for the past 10 months. I'm also completely pissed off that the dealers have said that they've done work which hasn't been done. What about diff oil filters etc? Did they not bother with them either.
On the plus side, my car is so comfortable now
I'll keep you posted.

But as I asked my dealer to check out a suspension clonk (that they couldn't fix) 6 months ago, I thought they might have actually checked. The clonk has been fixed now the spacer has gone

Glad to see that you found your clunk. The truth is that the dealers are at the mercy of their mechanics. Certified does not seem to mean anything to Honda or their dealers. I always get to know who is working on my cars and I specify only that person is to work on my car or I WILL NOT pay the bill. I also only use the same service writer and have them write on the work order that the car is to be serviced by ------ only. This has proved its worth many times. Just a thought for what it is worth.

No charge for the clonk work - they couldn't find it
The worrying thing is that four dealers have worked on this car prior to this week.
PDI by Camden, Wigan - who then changed to Savoy Honda
Serviced by Savoy
Serviced by John Hall, Blackpool
Serviced by Two Mills (NSX approved)
Serviced by Springfield
I have a signed off sheet by every dealership that a visual inspection of the suspension parts has been performed.
Honda should be very worried about this, I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in this case.

I'd love to hear the horse shit they're going to try on to explain why they are a useless bunch of self abusers.
And let's not forget that I was sent out on worn out brake discs as well.
