Default Squeak from rear

Hi,
I know yet another thread about noises from the car, I'm sorry. In my case I can hear a squeek from the rear drivers side, it sounds like a pram wheel squeak, makes no difference whether at speed or idling, clutch engaged or not, it happen randomly and usually only in 10 second bursts or so.

Could you give me any ideas what to look for or what you suspect it might be based on my description above, many thanks.

Thanks Lee, but no its definitely from the rear wheel/axle area, and outside of the car.

are your rear brake pads wearing thin quickly? I had this problem on a Mazda 323f. Turned out to be a combination of a slightly seized caliper, a very siezed handbrake cable, and a number of other quite worn suspension components, none of which needed replacement, but were all contributing factors......I'd tell you it was easy to solve, but I bodged the caliper, and sold the car

The only squeak I've had from that area was the spare wheel rubber - the garage couldn't have quite fixed it down properly after replacing the roof. But, I guess that doesn't help you much if it's definitely outside.

Thanks for the help, I suspect it might be a caliper or something like that, I will have a look though not exactly sure what to look for.

Not really Rick, I will be driving along a smooth straight road, and when it happens I will try pressing the clutch, but the noise remains, then on another time I might try dabbing the breaks but the noise remains. It is not a constant squeak however these things have a habit of developing don't they so just trying to nip it in the bud so to speak.

I have just realised I am only a thousand miles or so away from my 54k service too. Don't know whether I trust my local Honda dealer with that

Does the roof up or down make a difference? My roof used to squeak sometimes for no reason.

Thats why I service mine my self

As you know Rick, I wouldn't know about the sound with the roof up, as it never is!

What about your Full Service History though?
