As the new title suggests, I have it all sorted now, and have replaced the OEM alarm. The chap that fitted the new one told me the car refused to start when he was going to put in his workshop, talk about timing

Here are a few photos of the board from the old alarm, complete with burn marks which, he reckons, caused the starting issue.

Looks like it may have been demanding too much power, a pitted relay has done this to me in the past, albeit not on a car.

Although without seeing the pin out, one can not be certain

Glad it's sorted...you can put the hammer back in the garage now
