Thumbs up Stereo facia problems

Hi all, happy to say I'm the proud new owner of a 2005 Berlina Black S2000 as of this weekend, and I absolutely love it... can't wait for this bad weather to pass so I can have a good drive in it and start exploring its performance and handling!

ANyway onto the point, had the (factory fit) stereo out last night, used the instructions on the FAQ:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...0&#entry5798525

which were very good! Unfortunatley there are no images and the link within to Lucid auto isn't working owing to Lucid updating their site.

My problem is that I have got everything back in now but the front door facia panel its getting stuck and wont fold down - as far as I can see I have got it back into place properly but can't figure out whats wrong - it seems that the door is just catching on the top edge and stopping it being free to fold down.

Anyone else had this problem and got a resolution. I have tried pulling in and out again but no luck.

(Should mention that I didn't replace the stereo only ran a cable round the back there)

Thanks

Yes - stop and be careful. Your problem is the lip on the centre console.

On the 04+ models you need to lift the centre console up to get the door off - otherwise you'll bend the clips and your door will never open/close properly again.

You don't need to take it off just lift it above the handbrake.

With the hand brake up put you fingers under the plastic / of the centre console and pull - it is clipped on. Their are several clips around both sides. lift it up and you should be able to easily pull the stereo fascia forwards and off. (you can take the console cover off completely if you undo the gear knob - but you don't need to).

to get the fascia off you need to pry it out at the bottom and top with - well i used a flat head screwdriver wrapped in masking tape.

Ok excellent thanks for the response. It sounds like I may have already bent the clips I will take try and straighten them up sligtly and then put the fascia back on having removed the centre console. These are bloody fiddly jobs.

It will be ood to know because I am about to get an alpine unit on order along with some new speakers.

No problem.

I can send photos when I get home if you need them but it is pretty simple.

My bet is you wont last long before changing the headuint - everyone does in the end!

This shows the tray raised up - it will move back an inch or two to let you get the base of the radio panel in

You can see the clips under the tray that press into the transmission tunnel.
