Stereo upgrade needed
Hi, having recently bought an AP2 (04) I'd like to replace the head unit with something that I can connect my phone to for music but would like to keep the dash controls working as its so easy when driving to control the volume etc.., must also be able to close the stereo flap.
maybe even upgrade the speakers if easy enough.
Anyone know any traders or shops in Hertfordshire area where I could source the kit?
thanks

Just got a PURE Highway 400 DAB for mine, a very impressive digital converter allows hands free with the PURE 600.
I had a connect 2 installed for ease of installation from last owner

Audiofile incar in Bishops Stortford have done upgrades to several S2000s and they can supply the kit you need. Speak to Gary.
I had an Alpine head unit that can either bluetooth to phone or have usb iipod input and maintains dash controls. Also had Focal component speakers fitted and importantly plenty of sound deadening in the doors

Its easy to do this, a lot of units can be supplied with a lead to maintain dash controls for £cheap
car audio direct will sort you out. Upgrade the speakers and add an underseat sub to make it sound good

As above - sound deadening is your friend. Cheap speakers installed well will almost always sound better than decent speakers installed badly. I can choose not to hear anything but music well into naughty speeds, roof up or down.
You need enough sound deadening to keep road noise out of the car and then enough power to drive the speakers against that deadening into the car. The better damped your doorskins are, the less power that actually needs.
I think i'm at about 300W RMS into the doors and 500RMS into the sub in the boot.
