Default strange noise...

Ok,

Here we go! I've got a strange noise from my car. I close the boot lid and 3-4-5 seconds later theres another thud. I've no idea where the noise is coming from but its proper noise, not a made up one lol

Anyone???????????

Alas leggy, I think you'll have to be more descriptive, or do some more investigation to find the noise...they are notoriously difficult to hear over the internet

Doesn't sound like one of the usual noises that an S is known to make either., however...spare wheel?

Does the boot actually close/lock properly once shut?

No cave!

Honestly, I close the boot then secs later there is a further bump/bang noise. The boot is closed properly. Nothing in the boot, I've removed everything inc spare wheel etc.

Are the springs mounted the right way.

Are the sprints rubbing each other ( there should be a rubber strip between them )

I've heard it on cars where the high level spoiler had the uprated springs mounted backward.

Don't tell anyone

I've had the car 14/15 months, no noise, no issues and now all of a sudden I have a bang/bump noise which can be heard from outside and inside the cabin. No ideas!!

As Gaspode said, it's the springs they are the crossed over rods in the top of the boot. Not sure if it's becuase of incorrect fitting or uprated springs being slightly different in shape.

Mine do it, never bothered to try and sort it.
