Default Strip it or fix it?

Well as most will know my S2000 is a write off,

Write off

Do i write it off completly and strip it down? Or do i fix it and put her back on the road,

I want a S2000 again for sure, Nothing else takes my fancy enough to want to leave the fold,

I would like it Yellow again but thats going to be hard bar a respray, I would be happy just to get back in a S though,

I am looking at buying parts from the good old US of A but the Rear Subframe is not a small item, So i guess shipping may take some of the cost but still cheaper then the £1500+ RRP over here, At least all the other parts can fit in a big box with it,

The one thing that does worry me if i do strip it i need a DBW car to keep my Flashpro or get a diffrent ECU, Adding a big cost to a new car, Also how do i remove the map from my car so i can sell the Flashpro if i go that route?

After having it mapped and being such a better drive i dont want to stick my mods on loose a huge amount of MPG and the poor performance compared to how it was,

I also plan on Supercharging but this will be in the future even more now but i will be doing this so need to consider this more,

If i sell the Engine/Gearbox ETC then rip all my mods off i will be happy i have got my money back off buying mine back before selling the rest on to help fund another, But i also still love it to bits just not sure if i can fix it,

I know i need at least one wheel and one rear strut out of the mods thats damaged anyway, Not fussed on the front lip that can be done after,

Still not 100% on what it would roughly cost to fix mine either as need to sort all the parts and body out,

Time is not really a issue as i have a runabout but would like to set June 13 as when am back in a S,

Really not sure on what to do now

Keep it, if it's been wrote off all the money has been lost, you don't need a new subframe, the DBW and none DBW engines are not comparable without changing the crank/ cam pulse sensors, which I have just done.with the Flashpro you just put the map back to stock and unlock from the car......for some reason mine won't unlock from my car.

See pic below.

To unlock Flashpro connect it to your cars ECU and do step 1, and then 2.

When you get your new car do step 3.

I can see this is an emotional decision for you, but why not take the cash and move on?

S2000 prices seem depressed at the moment so the pay out plus a little bit more could buy you a newer model or you can spend less and get an older model keeping the difference.

Faffing around with written off cars is a waste of time imo. The car will never be the same and you'll never get the money back.

It also puzzles me why peeps crash their s2000 and go straight out and buy another

Your cash your choice - heart vs head

How good are you with spanners?

You can fix that cheap if you dont mind second hand parts and can do the labour yourself.

Example: I paid £60 for a subframe, £50 for a rear drive shaft, a few years ago I bought some replacement arms (all corners) from a breaker in the USA for £250 all in.

I've got a subframe laid in my back garden.

If it was me I'd fix it. Can't you knock them down on price abit aswell?

Respary is the costly bit, but I'm sure you'll find someone to help out.
