Default Strut Braces

Hey guys and gals

Basically need a strut brace as gonna have one declared on my insurance to make it cheaper. Now I know it does not make any difference on the S2000 having one fitted because of the double wishbone suspension but it makes my insurance a hell of a lot cheaper. Right so recently brought a OMP one for my 2003 s2000 however it would not fit because of the air con pipes being in the way.

Any of you recommend one that will actually fit?

Any advice would be appreciated, Or if there is a way that the OMP will fit? and me and my mechanic friend are just bring stupid but I honestly cant see how.

please help :-)

What kind of insurance do you have that becomes cheaper if you fit strut bars?!

I've just fitted a Js Racing one and had to push that pipe down slightly, but not as much as you've got there.

I'd be interested in that insurance too !
There is a little silver bracket holding the air con pipe in place. Remove it and you'll be able to manipulate the pipe out of the way.

I also, would like to know which insurance company this is? And how much cheaper is it? Did you have to declare what brand of strut brace it was?

I would be inclined personally to cellotape together some bog roll tubes and call that a brace - Where exactly in insurance documents does it say what the modification is made from?! A 'modification' is a modification...!

I would not consider a front upper strut brace a modification as you are not upgrading or replacing (Modifying) anything. I consider such itens as accessories much like car mats are!

Accessories do not affect insurance premiums. Modifications do. (I only have accessories on my car)!

It's a suspension modification. Would you class a supercharger as an accessory too as you're not upgrading anything or replacing anything either???!

was through Adrian Flux. Declared I had a strut brace and it dropped my prem from like 1600 to 1000 . Yeah tried the bracket trick, Could get it to fit that way but the air-con pip is left resting against the strut brace, under a lot of tension against it. If I was to do this would be worried that it would break. Sure it wouldn't break under the increased pressure from being pushed down so much.

Yeah classed as a suspension modification even tho it does jack to the handling of the car, Saw it as look after the car more so made it cheaper.
