Yep Doherty Mobile is turbo'ed and a four wheel fire hazard with all the unburnt fuel it kicks out
But is sounds fantastic - Vtec and turbo sound together!. Especially through the Machester Tunnels!
He has the boost right down at the moment.
He did have a very good agruement for Turbo over SC, can't remember what it was though
IIRC it has cost him ~

It's probably the fact that more BHP gains are available, plus the fact you can always adjust the booooost or swap out the turbo for a bigger one.

The SC is a safe route to go, it's been tried and tested for years and is generally a reliable upgrade. You can buy second hand kits on eBay now and then and I think that's where S2000_Europe got his kit from.

I've also seen a twin turbo setup in the US which looks the tits!

I guess it all comes down to budget at the end of the day. SC is medium costs, you know what you're getting and the reliablity, etc is generally very good, but tuning potential is limited in terms of BHP gains. Turbos on the otherhand are going to give you far better scope for tuning and there's no reason why you can't push over 500BHP like some do in Japan. The only problem is when a turbo goes, it's going to go with a bang!

I would not go either ways. You have to understand that one mod brings another. You have to consider that if you put a supercharger or turbo you should get an ACT to withstand the extra power. And especially with a turbo you have no idea what it takes to get the perfect tuning.

I would not mess with the engine at all for many reasons and one of them is that if you install a supercharger/turbo or nitro, the whole philosophy of the S2000 changes. If you want to do a mod to your engine I would go ONLY with Mugen. Another reason is that the S2000 is already fast and dangerous if you dont know its limits. Am not saying the car is dangerous regarding safety. Every car is dangerous if the driver doesnt know his limits and car's limits.

Believe me I have done the same thinking regarding a Supercharger fitting and went through all the topics, and even the most satisfied users of Comptech, Vortech etc etc mention that you should cool down your engine and not go always V-TEC since the temperatures are increasing. Personally I cannot tell or feel 100% when I should cool down the engine. I would prefer having my S2000 with no mods always on V-TEC and been sure that nothing could go wrong, rather always concern if my supercharged S will have a possible failure..

Thats me thinking again loud.
i think the heat thing you mention is heat soak. the intercooler gets hot and whilst the boost pressure stays high you loose power because the air you are putting in doesn't get cooled and as such has less oxygen for a given pressure. you wouldn't be able to notice it on your car as you don;t have forced induction, but it was very noticeable on my old mr2 turbo.

the s2000 is well capable of taking more power in my opinion, but as with all power, you have to show some restraint and not floor in it the wet mid corner having just come off the brakes with worn s02's in the depths of winter.

There was a Supercharger on eBay at the weekend, seems very dodgy though was about $1000 when I looked at it, can't find it now though, was in UK with price in dollars ?!?

What about the 2.3 litre conversion, not thought of that ?!?
