If you strap it to the roof you may as well start your "I've bent the roof frame" thread now so the answers are all ready for you when you get back!

Sorry, but I can't think of an alternative either unless you put it on a skate board and tow it behind you?

Doh!!!! Perhaps I can get it stored down in Croyde then do multiple trips to the beach with a passenger or a board!

from devon myself and your best option is to hire a board there, there are plenty of shops and surf huts you can do this from and its easyier

Yep hire down there thats what we do. If its a specialist one you could put it on the train maybe and collect at the other end.

Depending where you stay the macho thing to do is carry it from the hotel to the beach under your arm in a nonchalant manner!

You could always post it. It might be difficult to find a post box with a slot big enough though
