It's amazing the number of times you see 2 bolts/fittings the same, right next to each other, yet one is in much poorer state than the other.

It's either amazing coincidence, or some freak environmental effect, electrolysis or something

Or just shoddy mixed build quality in the first place

Both mine are like this I asked Honda to have a look and they said that mine was purely cosmetic and not going to cause component failure and so no warranty claim would be accepted by Honda UK

Most extended warranties exclude corrosion and wear and tear and you have to have a part actually break up to be able to faciliate a claim. Also, I think Honda's anti-corrosion warranty only covers corrosion that causes a body panel to perforate. The further bad news is that you normally have to give your own permission to the repairer to start work and if the warranty company then don't authorise you are left either with your car in bits or a big bill!

My advice would be to go to specialist repairer and see if they think they could burn out and replace the bushings in the arms (got to be worth a try, unless you want to leave the geometry like it is - you will still be able to adjust the track). If an auto factors lists the bushings as being available seperately then this has to be a possibility.

BW - just keep hounding the dealership and send a letter to Honda UK whilst you're at it.

The suspension arms are prone to surface rust - for anyone else out there, I would recommend you take each wheel off and coat liberally with Hammerite anti corrosion black paint. I did mine a few months back when I saw a bit of surface rust from pitting.

Just to finish this thread off.

At last its all now sorted. After some very helpful PM advise (thanks - you know who you are ) I took the car to Sunside in Halifax.

They tried to get the bolts free, couldn't, but they lubbed them up and I ran the car for a while with the arms coated in grease. Luckily it worked for the front arm (which was the expensive one) It didn't however work for the rear. In the end it cost around

Just thought I'd bring this to people's attention again.

I have suffered the same problems on at least two of my suspension arms. How the last geo was done, we don't know but the handling was definitely improved after they did it

Luckily Honda UK offered to sort this out for me with the rest of my suspension problems But be warned this would have cost me

Just had my geo done on a MY00 and they never mentioned any rusty bolts or them being difficult to adjust.

Makes me wonder whether I am lucky and they are alright or whether the geo was really done properly? I have readings for before and after though.

You should be ok. It was only a couple of bolts on mine.
