I am getting increasing aware that when I drive over speed humps or drive down a bumpy road there is a sort of metal to metal grinding sound that comes from the rear suspension.

I thought at first it might be something in the boot but what's in there is strapped down and cannot move

 

I noticed that on cold mornings my rear suspension would 'creak' over speed humps....I think it was more or less the first thing I posted back when I got the car back end of last year

 

Me too..... I get a creaking noise that sounds like a bed spring..... only notice it at low speeds or when reversing into parking spaces

Mine squeaks like bed springs too. The gravy thickens!

 

I get the odd squeak from mine as well, just put it down to usual suspension noise. I reckon you notice it more because of the proximity of ears to rear suspension. Really don't think it's anything to worry about.

 

Knowing SFA about anything - it cdn't be the bushes in the suspension needing a bit of silicone spray cd it? Been dry for a long time.

 

Okay so lets see if theres a common denominator. Mines an 03 and has the noise, are there any pre 02s with the same thing? I just wonder if its anything thats unique to a certain MY. Its bloody irritating.

 

Mine creaks as well, but i am getting on a bit !!.

Could well be the bushes, i'll get mine checked out at the next service.

 

Well, it annoys as well as worries me so I'm off to the dealer to get it checked.............i'll report back.
