Default Temperature Dial getting hot

Hiya - had the air con on for a little bit today, just to make sure it was still working.

I noticed the temperature dial for the a/c / heating, got really really hot - as in nearly too hot to touch.

I wasn't in the car long enough for it to cool down to see if it happens when the a/c isn't on.

Does anybody else have this?

Never had this myself, sounds like the switch could be faulty.

Hmm that was what I was worried about

First service list now includes

rust in the boot
irritating creak
headlight washers
interior light intermittent
some black rubber on the passenger side is unstuck and peeling off
starter motor squeaking in cold weather intermittently
and now this too

Thought these cars were supposed to be well put together?

Well my 2 S's have been very reliable and well built. So it must be the owners.

It's all relative. We only really hear on this forum about problems with our cars, but I still reckon Hondas are up there in terms of build quality and reliability, witness the JD Power survey.

Dreamer,

You need to get the original (& best) MY00 version, not these watered down MY04 versions

I haven't had any of the problems in my MY00 (over 5 yrs old) that you've had in your MY04.

I'd be letting my dealer know that this was unacceptable for a brand new car.

Hoping you didn't get the lemon

Good Luck !
