WARNING!
If you're about to renew with Tesco on the basis that they have in the past been track day-friendly insurers, don't!
I renewed earlier this week and today received my new certificate. The exclusions part of the policy now makes specific reference to cover for track days being excluded
Absolutely no mention was made of changes to the policy T&Cs either when I received the invitiation to renew and the new premium or when I called them to pay for it. Only my professional obsession with reading the "small print" lead me to spot the additional exclusion.
I guess it shouldn't surprise me. Track days have really taken off in the past 12 months, and I suppose it wasn't something which they felt that they specifically had to exclude this time last year.
Anyway, be warned! You should still be OK if you're with Tesco and haven't renewed yet, unless they send you a mid-year revision to the policy exclusions (which they didn't with me), but you won't be covered going forwards.

Mark,
My Directline insurance renewal (Same company as Tesco) came through this week, with a note covering the changes to the policy, and it was on there.
What was your quoted from Tesco?

I'm with Tesco at the minute, but will probably change to these at renewal.
