[QUOTE=Paper Lawyer,Sep 2 2007, 11:47 PM] TBH, in comparison with my home kit (which isn't top-end), it sounds pants

Jez
I've had my S2K for 3 weeks now and the stereo was disappointing for me also, went to my local car audio place and got my hands on an Alpine head unit that takes my ipod so no need for a changer, this improved volume enough that I could listen to the music with roof down at 90 plus, but I have just fitted the spods in the roll over hoops and must say they have improved things even more with no permanent marks except a small hole into the plastic cover to hide the speaker wires. Once fitted they look standard you'd hardly know they are there, if you want piccies and more details let me know. The head unit cost

Jez,
I put the alpine cde-9881rb in it, has cd plus a proper ipod lead that comes out the back, full menu selection through the head unit for artist, album etc and yes I also got he adaptor for the dashboard controls, the only thing is the mute doesn't silence the stereo justs brings the volume right down.
Here is a link to the spods website http://www.streetsmarttechnologies.net/photos.html
they seem a bit blue peter when you get them but fitted it's hard to tell they are not factory. I will try and attach some photos a bit later.

As promised a few pictures of my spods the last one showing the cover of is not that clear, the spods come with a hole for tweeters but I decided against these and just covered the holes with some sound deadening material.

Does the wiring therefore come out the back?

I agree with Craig, but to some extent worrying about the acoustics in the S really isn't worth it

No small hole drilled where the two halves of the plastic roll over bar cover meet and the wires fed behind all panels along sills to the stereo. You will only see the holes if the speaker kits are removed.
