its what feels right at the end of the day

i read a lot here about an s being an 'enthusiasts' car. what that means I dont quite know, nor do i know how fast 'enthusiasts' drive when they are drivng.

bottom line is , go with what you like. i got the s because it felt like a sports car where as the tt225 and z4 felt like fast saloons.
i also looks sexier, sounds nicer and i found the driving position perfect for me.

it has power delivery akin to a 600 cc sports bike which means you use the gear box, which is fun,

as for handling i have thrown it around the a41 as fast as i am comfortable with both in the very wet and dry and have not had even a hint so the back end giving up. sure i'm probably driving slowly compared with what the car can do but unless you want to drive on the ragged edge of the limit at all times the s will be safe and far more rewarding to own.

as for the tt being a hairdressers car - thats bollocks - a hairdresser could never afford to run one!

well the s2000 does have something about it, plus the drop top would be great at times. as for the TT i prefer the coupe, so would miss out on the drop top.

my current celica is a like a mild s2000, in the fact that it has lift similar to vtec where all the action is above 6.2k upto 8.2k.

Chalk - hard white stuff used by teachers and not good to eat.

Cheese - soft yellow stuff made from milk and mostly good to eat.

I've had 3 Audis now because I needed practical cars. The last one - an A4 quattro was good (note good - not GREAT) and highly reliable for what I needed and very safe and easy to drive and never bit me.

I've now got an S2000. It's a truly great car for a good driver as has been said already. It rewards skill and precision it punishes YOUR mistakes without mercy.

Frankly - buy the TT much safer bet for most people, good residuals, nice car in a bland sort of way.
Re the tuning you mentioned - yes it can be done but don't take the engine much beyond 255 BHP and do change the oil / use a good oil regularly.
