Default Thought I would share my pain - MOT £1360

Just thought I would let you all know that my wallet hurts!
New brakes, tyres and some TLC and a bill for £1360.

Ouch.

But hey - what else would it spend it on? and I wouldn't swap her for anything else!

Minvo

EDIT: and yes the tyres are ALL MY FAULT. Too many Doh....nuts.

Just had mine done by my Honda Dealer. Cost £0 (test was free as I had the car serviced there last year).

(FWIW, last year it was about £2k for new fuel tank, brake lines, handbrake cable, cat and other assorted horrors)

Ouch. Mine has never cost me more than a pair of rears... £250.

Had a rusty brake pipe once, that's it.

I suppose it is something like this
Calipers 400 or so! Pads 225 or so! Tyres 450 or so
Total Parts 1075
Sundries for TLC etc 50
MOT 35
Grand Total 1160 leaving 200 labour ect, not bad in the great scheme.
Even without calipers not wildly bad, if one was running a business With overhead etc to pay and a profit to make
Still glad I DIY my toy car

Why did you even put it in for an MOT with it needing tyres.

Those costs are consumables. It's not like you spent over a grand to repair it to get through an MOT

Just had to put a new engine in 2.5k with clutch and fluids. That's free labour as I did it

Brakes & tyres came to that? How's that even possible?

Did you go to a main-dealer for an MOT?
