Steven - hate to say it but the OEM rear spoiler looks a lot nicer than the Mugen. IMO
(IMHO)

Lucky that I care more about how the car drives than how it looks then

Salty - I'm in the same boat with my 04GT I just got, I also feel the same as you about "tuning" the engine so here is my bling list in no particular order!

100W main beam bulbs for better night vision
Muz mats - a must!
Muz - textured knob ( )
Boston Acoustic NX57 speakers - Better rear speakers for my ICE
Ricks 7/8th aero screen - less bad hair days for LSB
Ricks badges front & rear - coz I like the idea of people not knowing
Cusco CF oval tower brace - works well with X brace
Muz lower X brace - see above
Muz intake - banishes the kanagaroos!
Volks 18" CE28N's with AVS Sport for super sticky grip and less unsprung weight
Woven stainless mesh grill - to protect radiator and add that bling look
Veilside V1 rear spoiler - subtle but different to Fletch
1st Lotus training day - to learn how the bling affects your car!

I am thinking about:
J's racing engine torque damper - to help gear changes
Master Cylinder Brace - to improve brake pedal feel
Mugen front splitter - just for the bling factor

I reckon that lot is ~

It's great how everybody has their own ideas on these cars!
I'm following those who have gone before with a trip to Switzerland next summer but her in doors won't drive that far so she'll fly and meet me there.
I do think that once you take the plunge and buy a 'bling' colour then the spoilers might well set the car off even more, although I do like the OEM stuff on all the cars I've seen.
Can't see the point of cross braces, etc unless you intend to race or do a lot of track days. IMO if you really want the car to go faster round corners then learning to drive it properly via track days and tuition is the way to go. One thing I learned many years ago is that unless you regularly race or have been properly trained you can't really drive fast.

I think you miss the point slightly - when you drive a go kart what makes it so fun? Its that feeling of speed being in something so little and close to the ground but also the direct steering and instant turn in. Now all the braces in the world won't make an S2000 handle like a go kart, but it does give the steering that little extra edge which is quite satisfying IMO.

I had the front braces on my last S and noticed the difference on the road so I am fitting them to my current S

PJL had lowered stiffened, xbraces all from Spoon, and whilst it may be nicer to drive, on the track I was the only one keeping up with him (I'd say we were basically evenly matched) but mine's completely stock.

Put this stuff on by all means, but know why you're doing it. Personally I'm not going to mod my car at all, it really doesn't need it. Mod it to do something that you particularly want, but most people (including me) can't wring out the best of even the stock performance. And as the car gets better you have to push it harder and faster to get to the edge.

One of the reasons I see no point in modding the engine

I take the point about the braces, I guess unless you have driven both stock and braced you can't know what difference they make. The steering on the standard car is quite precise but a little lifeless compared to Boxster or Elise. Can't see any of my money going on braces at this stage though.

Bling then...The next question is if I go for spoilers do I go for a big one or a little one!

I vote Mugen front and rear on an 04 for ultra bling!
