Default Timing Chain or Tensioner

Hi Everyone, My S2k is on 150k now and im getting a metallic ticking noise from under the bonnet, the noise is more prominent when the car has been run (is warm) and from watching a few youtube videos the sound seems consistent with a bad TCT. Im wondering if it could be the timing chain as well though and if there is a way to tell which it could be?

Cheers all

Josh

Put a TCT in first and see,a lot easier than a TC replacement.
refurbish your tct and give it a try =£0

Balade TCTs have overtensioned and destroyed the chain. Claims here.

Where are people sourcing their OEM TCT's from?
Tegiwa seem the best priced in the UK, but it looks like a decent saving can be buying directly from Japan or the US.

Cox MotorParts are a little cheaper at £184. Not sure on postage costs though (look under clutch kits for some reason)
also worth asking Hendy as well for a quote.

Most OEM tensioners can be revived (sometimes for many happy years after) with one sheet of 400 grit sandpaper and about 30 mins. PM if you need more info
