Perhaps the lube is to stop it getting rusty in storage...like brake discs

Thats exactly what i thought it was for and stop it seizing, but i was unsure.

All the brakes discs I've ever bought have near been coated.

Perhaps the discs you buy aren't mass manufacturer like alot of them

Producing in quantity, keeping machine settings the same for a few days helps to reduce costs. The down side is that they need to be protected 'til they are sold...maybe it's the same for your fuel pump

I had looked on the net and they should be covered in this lube, it appears to be genuine, but ill take a pic later - being genuine was the thing i was most concerned about TBH. It was £75

The sock ie fuel filter is coming going to fitted to the walbro.

Sorry I've been out and using my iPhone.

I've looked on the net and the Walbro fuel pumps are meant to be shipped coated in lube.

I was concerned about it being genuine as there are some fakes about, but after reading and looking at my unit it appears to be a genuine unit. It also states its genuine on the ebay sellers page, it was £75 delivered.

Regarding the Honda fuel filter (sock) i have bought a new one, my question was do the honda fuel filters just fit right onto the walbro units?

Yep will fit right over - i'm reasonably sure.

I've done about 4 pumps now of different cars and the OEM one has alway fitted over the Walboro.
