TomTom Go Help please!
After the very informative thread (thanks to all those who gave me tips etc.) I didn't go and buy a power supply, but I have got the TomTom to boot up while connected via USB to my laptop.
It boots up, gives me the picture showing a USB Connection, with the SDRam card flashing, and then starts up.
However - I can't back it up. The setup CD says "make sure TomTom is plugged in, powered up, then click the right arrow to continue" - if I click the right arrow it just bounces me back to the same message again, so it's not seeing tha tI have TomTom connected
Any hints from anyone?
(I have checked the USB Port is not configured for power saving)?
Thanks!
Jo

Hm I think it might have been our personal firewall type s/w, as I turned it off plugged in TT, and I go tthe "Windows has found a new USB device" messages.
However, it failed to install the device as no competible driver was specified

Can you see the Tomtom device in your pc's 'My computer bit ?
It should pick up the tomtom and allocate a drive to it.
I just double click the tomtom drive and then make a backup copy of the contents.
Hope that helps.

You are sure you clicking on the right drive right? It should show as a removable drive not a mobile. Either that or you have some anti-spyware stuff installed or there is something else going on.
I found it easier just to do everything through sticking the SD card into a memory card reader. They are quite cheap to buy and easier than going through the tomtom software.
I thought the TomToms software was a bit sh1t
