I think you will probably be okay, but the best thing to do is when you get there and after the briefing is to speak to the head honcho that carried this out, explain your predicament about being concerned of tripping the meters and ask if they can keep an eye on you and give you plenty of warning if you get near the limit (they do this by giving you a "noise" board at the next marshal point once you have got near the limit).

However, I suspect that you are low enough that you will be able to hoon round to your heart's content .

My S got DB tested on the weekend 6500k at Rockingham and was 84db which i thought was low i got tested at Cadwell Park about a month ago and was 98db it could of been down to a cold engine as it came straight off the trailer and got tested. We will see again this weekend as back at Cadwell on the 1st

Standard exhaust - test pipe - 38mm uk mod

like others have said some of the things its down to the organiser or track policy with regards to fullface helmets or open face same with roof, i got told at one event we wouldnt recomend you run with the roof down but if you do windows up at all times.

carry some extra pads with you aswel i have killed 2 sets on 2 track days this year so far this is on the rear (shitty brembos got some ds2500 on order for the rear to mach the fronts now)

Changed mid to end of Feb.

Std 2003 exhaust with K&N and 3/8 UK mod is 91 DB at 3/4 MAX RPM.

Croft have 88db static, with 88db avg over every 1/2 hour on quiet days. They Let a 103Db scooby out, with the promise that in certain areas he took it easy on quiet exhaust. If they exceed the noise, they then pull cars in for a short time to allow Avg noise level to drop.

Do people buy their own helmets or can you rent them on the day?

Thanks

I have my own. Many do, particularly regular trackers and motorbikers.

Many also rent them, but the thought of someone elses sweatty snotty head.....

Mine was £35, and is up to standard.

Don't let someone say £30 helmet won't protect you and you need to spend £300... because the BS 6658:1985 or UNECE Regulation 22.05 etc are set to certain levels, so £30 or £300 will offer the same minimum protection.

Some offer more than others, and generally more expensive offers more... only generally not definitely, But if you roll a 1.3 tonne convertible, and it lands on your head £30 or £300 isn't going to make much difference.

FIA helmet standards are different, and specifically designed for racing, which on a track day you won't be doing. Most sessions will kick you off track if you're caught actually racing or timing, without a proper "timed session" being in place.

It may help some of you to read the Track day FAQ, which can be found here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/uk-irela...v0-3-a-582446/

I've use a £50 Takachi helmet for the majority of my 50 or so track days.
