Default Track Pad Longevity

I know there are a few track guys on here so was after some opinion on how long your pads last.

I started off using yellowstuff and when I got a little better at driving they weren't good enough, then I bought bluestuff as I needed new pads and was short of cash, they have lasted a lot longer but still only 4-5 track days.

Is this normal? How many trackdays should I be expecting out of a set of pads, something to bear in mind is I drive Blyton circuit a lot and that's very heavy on brakes and tyres.

I've only done a few but they are generally hard on both tyres and pads. even if you don't do many laps your car gets covered in rubber debris (especially noticeable if wet) and wheels caked

I think 4-5 is probably good, especially if you're doing a fair few laps

Well I suppose it's time I tried the DS2500 pad as everyone seems to rave about them, if they last an extra track day then they will be worth the extra money.

Try Carbotechs, I went from swapping pads every 1-2 events with other compounds to having them last 1-2 years...

Blyton is hard on brakes, but easy on tyres. If you want hard on tyres, go to Anglesey - it's made out of 100grit.

Yep, they cost 3x what I was using previous to them. But they last 10x longer. And are gentle on the discs. So I save money there too.

Also found yellowstuff pretty poop for life, I killed a brand new set in one and a half trackdays +1000 road miles.

I'm currently using a set of Carbone Lorraine RC5+ and they are at 3 trackdays +4000 road miles and have about 1/3 life left in them.

If you haven't already perhaps a cooling kit may help

i had my first set of carbone lorraine's fitted a couple of years ago and couldnt believe the upgrade from everything else ive tried. they lasted around 7-8 track days roughly (on blank discs). not ridiculously expensive around £270 for all corners covered. cannot reccommend them enough.
