You can still fit 245/40's on the 8" rears though.
And they'll be lighter and won't stick out as much what with the offset being wrong.

"Looks like the Boost do come in 17x7.5 and 17x8, which probably isn't too bad. IIRC, the standard wheels are 17x7 and 17x8?

Tempting.

The OEM rears are 8.5" wide."

surely if the wheel is a different width this effects the behavour of the tyre. Does anybody have any knowlegde on this??

Personelly i like the look of the race look of the slipstream but i alway think of white in a race enviroment, not for Chav reasons!! If boost have a greater weight saving id def go with them cus in terms of looks there's not much in it. Have you considered if it is a true weight saving account that the standard rims are bigger

TBH I don't really care. I'm just going for the lightest cheapest solution available. These wheels are going to get trashed so I just need a set of wheels.

If I was doing it properly, I'd get Volks.

I had a set of boosts on order from rare rims for 5 months and they never came (no money involved but still annoying!)

You can get boosts in staggered fitment - readily available in the US, just shipping is pricy.

What about a set of OEM 17s, plent come up on ebay especially if it doesn't matter about the condition.

I don't like ebay and don't use it.

I like the look of the Boost wheels, as they are only for track WGAF what colour - but if you must - then black

If you priced them at the same price as the Slipstreams I would.

I've just ordered a set of Boosts. They're 800g per wheel lighter than the slipstreams.
