Has any one seen or does anyone know?

Wonder if this would reduce or discourage the sale of trackers?

And what state were the recovered vehicles in?

My mates M3 was stolen (burglar broke in while he was away but pregnant wife was in the house and took the keys). After hassle with the insurance, who eventually paid out, the car turned up several weeks later in good nick.

That is, until the police tow truck towed it backwards out of a rutted field with the M3 locked in first gear.

NICE

Needless to say, although vehicle recovered, not wanted back by owner! Part of my avoidance of getting a tracker tbh.

And Fords have traditionally had a bad rep for being easy to break into - dunno what they're like currently though.

I read an article in Top Gear about Impreza theft a few years back. It used the example that the P1 came with a Tracker as standard and that all the cars were still with their owners and the few P1s that had been stolen were recovered within a matter of hours.

This may have been before Trackers were commonplace, so the theives were probably still trying to work out how to bypass them.

I had to get one on my Impreza and they're not cheap -
