Yes, but not by much - 5% most companies, which is less than the tracker cost for most people. Not all insurers give a discount (Tracker has a list, or check with other tracking system suplliers), and the discount varies - 10% being top wack.

The S2000 isn't too easy to steal. Crap Honda Cat 1 alarm (ultrasonics for a convertable... ), but the immobliser is good so it'll stpo most theives. The S2000 is reportedly an easy car to break into (poor central locking), but hard to drive off.

Surely the point of having a Tracker is to (hopefully) ensure that you get your car back 10 minutes after it's been stolen? That way you'll keep your premium down by not having to make a

I get discount for a tacking device - not sure how much though but the company won't insure an S2000 without one.

PWE 896 - what's the difference between Tracker and Trackstar ?

Trackstar doesn't rely on the police to locate the car with their own tracker enabled vehicles; it uses the mobile phone network system and satellite tracking to locate the car and then tells the police precisely where it is.

Tracker also do Horizon which has both GPS and Radio. The Radio signal does require the Police to track it, but works further underground, where picking up gps satellites can be tricky.

I have Tracker's other option - Monitor - this is a permanent watch on the vehicle's movement. If the tracker chip has not been deactivated by the ignition key and the car is still moving then they can will phone me to ask if i know of the car's security. If not, then they send the police or a security unit to secure the vehicle until i return etc...
