Default Tracker Tracker

Hi

My insurance and warranty date is looming and I have had thoughts about having a tracker fitted to try and reduce the insurance premium and increase my peace of mind!

Can anyone recommend a tracker and fitter?

Thanks

'Tracker', of course, is a brand name and their systems are regarded as the best available!

I had Tracker Monitor installed from new by the Tracker approved installer recommended by the selling dealer. There are a number of options up to one with GPS tracking, but this tends to be very expensive. Monitor, in addition to the basic tracking, includes telephone notification (to one of the numbers registered) if the vehicle is moved without the ignition being on. In 2002 the cost was around £800 for cover for the lifetime ownership of the vehicle. To my knowledge, Tracker is the only company which covers some overseas countries.

Regarding insurance: I have not found any companies who discount when you have a tracking system installed.

My S had a tracker fitted from new by the previous owner. I do not have it registered as I do not consider the car worth the cost of subscription. The insurance benefit is negligible.

"Tracker"from £799
inc VAT & Installation
plus annual subscription at £199
or 3 year subscription at £499
This is the current cat5 tracker cost.

I have Smarttrac fitted to our Range Rover Sport and personally wouldnt bother. I wouldnt want the car back after some scrote had ragged it and the insurance savings are next to nothing.
