TRAFFIC LIGHT GP JOKE
Yesterday, A Daewoo Matiz 0.8 vs a Kia Sorento! Crazy. This fool in the Sorento plagues my drive to work in the morning, hogging the fast lane, driving down the central whites so you can't see past, he is on my list and rapidly approaching number 1 Mr Frank Skinner as the person I will kill first should I lose the plot.
He beat the Daewoo.. but only just.
0-60 times - Daewoo - 20s , Kia - 14.5s
heh heh

three guys in a new golf 1.6 fsi tried to race me off the lights on the A4 dual carriageway last night, at next set of lights he told me nice car but if he had been in the 2.0 he would of kicked my arse..
erm well possibly but I would of had to park up first and adopted the position...

I have to do the Murray Walker when I see it happen on a dual carriageway!
Usually it's a Scenic attempting to overtake a 10 year old AX for five miles and losing!
Do they put something in the a/c of MPVs, to make the driver incapable of concentration?

the public at large need to feel the power of vtec! what a FOOL. The S2 is proper fast off the lights, I've been challenged by and beaten an S4, the fastest golf (R32), multiple gti's and one tdi (tosser), multiple A3s and S3s, a few mr2's, a celica GT4, a 350z (i was very proud of that one but admit it was neck and neck until he bottled it into a corner), a ford ka (she stalled it! ha ha ha), a few trannies (not the nadia type), the odd corsa, nova etc..
i've not been beat..
oh yeah, a ford rs (a.r.s.e) focus and the honda civic r... the civic r had much more traction than the focus.. much more of a challenge.
a boxster S is almost exactly as quick as my honda from experience...
your mission is to spread the vtec fear! c'mon! its not even mission moderate, its mission piss easy!

A Boxster S tried it on on my way to the last surrey meet. Needless to say he lost by a considerable margin (oh the wonders of westies )
Many years ago I say a traffic light GP between a Nova Sri and Fiesta XR2i (I'm going back a few years now ). Basically the road went from 2 to 1 lane but neither would give. One ended up in the side railings, the other into a lampost the other side of the road. Very messy, both drivers OK but obviously gutted.

when trying, which I don't very often, I've only been beaten once - by an Impreza, and not by very much at all. There's not much that will beat an Impreza 0-30.
that was a 2>1 road and by the time we reached the narrowing I was in 2nd at about 50 on the inside - I could easily have held my line but then he would have been on the wrong side of the road.
the S is not great for the first 20yds or so, although it will easily see off most cars from the lights.
I find it difficult to predict what will have a go. If I'm in the inside lane waiting at lights it's often amazing what will pull up on your outside and go for it.
vans are the funniest.
the biggest problem with winning these little duels is the aftermath.
Nine times out of ten it results in tailgating.
