The standard reply.

On the Snap On van yesterday they are doing a Blue Point one but
I think it was over 2 tonne, similar design to the above but a lot lot
bigger and about £199.

Russ.
Ditto.

Had this jack for about 3 years now and its been sooooo worth the money.

Use it on all 3 cars, the A3 is 1500kg's and has no issues lifting one side up.

30 half turns with the scissor jack, then I can get the trolley jack underneath.

My Halfords jack is leaking oil, which can't be good. So I really do need to get a new one.
Snap, bit of a ball-ache but my jack is in perfectly good working order.

Clark one I have ^^ worked not too badly for the 4 years I have had it. Still lifts however I lots one of the clips in the handle so the top half of it doesn't stay in (no biggie) but I have found that the bolts to hold in the front wheel do come out slowly but yet to thread lock it so not too fussed...

I also use blocks of wood, trying to figure out a way to make some cool air compressor one that I can slide under and press go and it lifts it up I can dream though...

was looking at jacks a few months ago, I also have the Halfords jack and don't trust it.

Had a look at the blue point jack that Tom had at TGM, seems to just be a version of the same basic Alloy jack that you can get at a variety of places, probably all from the same factory in China. Costco had a similar jack in silver for about £100

I find about 15 full turns does it for me....

And I also have the machine mart jack, gotta start it with blocks of wood or the oem scissor, but hey ho.

Side note; when I first fitted my coilovers the car was so low it fooked my scissor jack lifting from such a low angle!

Got a 3-tonne jobby from costco for about £90, though extra wood blocks are required for the front centre jacking point, even with my minimal levels of drop.

Same as this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003O65...TF8&me=&seller=

couple of pieces of wood for me; for the ammount of times i'd use a jack, the £50+ difference isnt worth it.

The reason I use such a monster is that it's one of the few LEs that has sufficient lift to get the axle stands under the car's jaking points.

I've an ancient Halfords trolley jack that still works; anyone want it?

Come & collect it if you do...
