Can anyone comment on using a 205/55 R16 on the rears as an alternative? Allows me to go for the RE002's, but I'm concerned the width would be noticeable.

Going for 17's would give me loads more options, but I do like my BBS Forged alloys!

The only person I know who used really narrow tyres on the rear ended up in a ditch.

Looking at Camskill, the best alternative would probably be the AD08Rs, even though they are the incorrect speed rating (V instead of W).

Agreed, I could put up with a wide tyre, but not comfortable going smaller.

At £100 a corner, I've taken your advice on the Advans I don't drive it in the rain or ice so it's a no brainer.

See the tyre thread above your post or do as I have done (plus quite a few others) and fit Pilot sport 4 tyres. Great in dry and wet, can't fault them.

Good rec

Be cautious of people who advise yokos and other track tyres for your use, they are not great stone cold as I almost found out earlier this winter

I have michelin pilot sports (or supersports?) on an M3 and they are great all round tyres ime.

Avoid track tyres with limited tread, the ad08s on my SC S2000 are truly bad in cold/wet, I nearly visitated a Prius taxi in them a few months back, abs all the way . The Mich are much better all rounder imo

TBF, the Yokos warm up fairly quickly and are no worse than the bloody S-02 in that regard.

Indeed, the V103s on my Leg End can be pretty hard when cold, too!
