Interesting to note KG CLE comments on the Goodyear Eagle ASY 2 XL 17's. I had ordered 2 of these for the rear of my car (before KG's comments.were posted) on the basis of generally favourable comments, and issues getting hold of MZ's. Having had them fitted this morning and taken the car on a quick run, unfortunately my initial thoughts are exactly as described by KG. From being superbly balanced and inspiring confidence before, the car now feels 'edgy' and unbalanced. When you turn into a bend it feels as though the back end becomes unsetted and wants to break away in an unprogressive way - very weird behaviour. In the dry the car was a peach before and behaved in a totally predictable manner. Obviously the tyres are brand new and there will be various chemicals that need to be scrubbed off before I can form a true picture, and I will play with the pressures also to see if this helps. They are currently on 34psi. With a forthcoming euro trip in less than 2 weeks, I am hoping that a few more miles on them will see a marked improvement - as others seem to rave about the tyre. We will see................... in the meantime, any advice would be welcomed. Cheers

I think the problem with these kind of tyres is they are designed for 'road' cars, I know the S is a road car too, but the S is a sports car and has the characteristics of one, especially it being rear wheel drive. The F1's it seems to me are designed for the mass market and the S2000 needs a more focused tyre if your intention is to drive the S like a sports car. I don't rate them at all and will never put them back on my car. Can't wait for my Federals to arrive, even though they only have a rating of 168MPH.

They ruined my Evo, I'll never get another set.

Bridgestones for me, or AD08R's.

The speed rating's fine, it's the load rating of the 235's that's not quite what it should be. A tyre rated at 90 has a load rating of 600kg's where as 91's are rated at 615 kg's load. (The 255 RS-R is rated at 670kg).

You'll probably be alright, but I wouldn't want to be running an under rated tyre on the road incase something went wrong and my insurance found out thee tyres weren't designed for the load that the car can put on them. On track I have thought the higher load a tyre can take the better too, up to a point of course.

'The speed rating means the tyre can be run at it's maximum speed AND at it's maximum load for an extended period without overheating.'

Anyone used Nankang NS-2R? Wondering how they compare over federals?

Have to go the same 225/45/17 & 255/40/17 as per the federals I believe.

Similar in price (literally like £2) but rate higher generally and used in a few competitions such as the civic cup

Type "Nankang" into the search box at the top of the thread and you'll see a few opinions about these.

Did that but mostly people saying they'll put them on. Then there's very little about results & opinions etc
