For example, as far as I can make out you can't get Eagles in this size. We only use the S2000 between April and October and mileage is very low (as you can see). The Potenza S-02's we put on ten years ago but no longer made. I was reading the rave reviews here about the Yoko AD08R but then when I look at the chart on Tyre Reviews, they score a very low 71% on wet grip...

I asked the local Honda garage what Honda were currently fitting and was told Turanza's...which don't get any good reviews that I can see.

V105's? I am going round in circles!

TIA
Bridgestone RE002. Job done.

Thanks for that...

How do you find them in the wet as Bridgstone's own site only rates them at C ?

No problems at all, just be sensible as you should with any tyre in the wet in an S2000.
Don't forget that the wet rating relates to braking distance, and is not a reflection of wet handling etc. See here for more: https://www.dunlop.eu/en_gb/consumer...explained.html

Opted for Pilot Sport 4s on mine, hopefully delivered on Tuesday and Wheel Specialist can fit them while they do my alloys.

Regarding wet performance, an A rated tyre will stop you from 50mph to 12mph 3m shorter than a B rated tyre, 6m shorter than a C rated tyre etc.

Is wet performance really important to you?

I can't speak for DBt85 but certainly for us it is - or more specifically SWMBO who doesn't drive stupidly and especially not so in the wet but likes to have the extra re-assurance. She's nearly been collected twice by aqua-planing numpties on the motorway losing it in front of her, spinning round and round.

I wouldn't say really important as largely the car only gets driven on nice days. I won't be the only one, however, who's gone out for the day and it was lush only to be bucketing down on the way home. If I need to slam the anchors on I'd rather it slowed me down in x meters rather than x+6 or x+9 meters. The wet performance wasn't why I got the MPS4s though.

It was more for general info as most people don't know what the difference is between an A and a B rating on the daft EU thing.

Another thing would the be fuel efficiency part, the difference between A and G is barely worth even considering. 6 litres over the life of a tyre! Shouldn't be a consideration on any performance car anyway but at that minimal difference it might as well be ignored for any car.

A tyre's rolling resistance score ranges from A to G. Over the life of the tyre, fitting an A rated tyre could save you up to 6 litres of fuel when compared to a G rated tyre.

I'm also waiting for my MPS4's to arrive. I'll post some feedback as soon as I fit them.
