Default Tyres

Car is in for a fluids & levels check prior to going to France in a few weeks & my N/S rear has two nails in it but no puncture. Will therefore need to get Event Mobile to replace both rears so am wondering whether i should get the fronts done too? Dealer reports 5mm on centre on both fronts with 2mm on inside.

2mm on the inside, depending on how much driving you will be doing on your holiday get them changed too.

If the tyres on the back are ok tread wise and the nail is not to near the edge, just get them plugged.

for 2mm i'd get them replaced

You may not have to replace your tyres just because of a nail, it all depends on how far from the edge of the tyre the nail is.

It may be worth seeing if you can get it repaired first.

I really dislike driving a car with notably diferent tread depths from front to rear. Feels rubbish.

If you have the money spare I'd do it just to enjoy the drive there and back more. You could always keep the fronts as spares for track days etc.
