Default UK spec remote keyfobs?

I'm currently looking to buy an S2000, I've looked at few now and have read the buying faq etc..
Most of the cars I've seen have the longer type remote with the large lock button and smaller unlock button but I saw an '02 today with a black square keyfob, a flashing LED added to the centre console and microwave sensors on the windscreen pillars. I initially presumed it was an import but an Ebay search turned up a replacement cover for the fob.
Do all of the AP1's have a square fob and the AP2 the rectangular type?
Any pics?
Cheers.

I have an AP1 '02 and I have the fob with the two buttons (one raised, one sunk)
I also have the flashing LED in the cenrte console. I also have the sensors on the windscreen

I think they changed on the newer cars as the '04 has the first fob you describe I think

I have the 2 button square fob with my 02 as well.

I need another one actually. I only have 1 key and alarm fob for the car.

The black two button keyfob alarm is a bit annoyingly noisy, can you program it to operate silently?

Pre 04 all 'UK' cars would have a Hamilton & Palmer keyfob. The Hamilton & Palmer alarm is known to be a POS and a liability.

Any cars imported from Europe or Japan would most likely have the OEM 3 button key fob.

From 04 onwards the S2000 had a factory fitted alarm so the keybob should be OEM.

Perfect, thanks for the replies.
I'm really struggling to find the "right" car to buy and reading the various faqs on here has been a great help.
Anyway I'm off to see another tomorrow and I won't complain about the keyfob this time..
