Under seat sub woofers
#22
Mine has a JL Stealthbox which is made as a drop in fit in the tool well in the trunk and works great. My JL 900 watt amp is on a board and was fitted in the spare tire but I removed that and used the space for a pretty full tool kit, jack, fix-a-flat, jumper cables, car wash stuff, etc. There are Boston Acoustics components installed up front, everything is hidden, flush and all you lose is the well in the trunk. Bass under 150hz is non-directional so even with a loaded trunk it is still pretty good. The side of trunk box shown in the thread also makes a lot of sense, just depends on whether you think the side or well of the trunk is more useful to you.

Will one of those Inphase USW10 subwoofers, fit in the centre of the spare wheel well do you think?
270mm diameter?
If you can 'secure' it in the spare wheel, it could be a really nice way of adding it in the cabin, without abusing loads of space?

If ordering, don't forget that the passenger/driver are the opposite way around. I have a V1 Passenger side enclosure in my car. Amp is on top of the fuel tank.

I've just put a Focal IBus 20 under the drivers seat (LHD).
There's a bulge under the seat that goes from about half way, all the way to the back of the seat, so the sub has to go at the front and sticks out from under the seat. In order to get the maximum seat movement, I put the sub right up against the hump in the floor. I'm 5'8" and like to sit close to the wheel with bent arms and there's still room to move the seat two clicks further forward than I need it.

Unless you're very short in the legs, the loss of a few clicks of seat travel won't be a problem.

I'm no car audio expert, but it sounds good to me, and using the High Pass Filter setting to relieve the door speakers of bass duty allows me to crank the whole thing up loud enough to have nice, clear, fully-rounded tunage with the roof down at 140kph and well beyond. The new seat massage feature is pretty welcome too...

After extensive searching, I'm still none the wiser as to which sub woofers, if any, will fit under the seatsin the S
I've seen a few alpine ones which might for but I'm finding it difficult to measure how much space is available ...
Has any one fitted one?
Mods- feel free to move to another section.

Within 12 months I replaced it with an Alpine MRD M605 amp (housed in the tool tray) and an Alpine SWR 1042 10" sub in a Laurent (Darkside) enclosure.

I just fitted a Pioneer under seat subwoofer to reduce the load on my Focals. Works a treat, clear sound up to motorway speeds. It's not the final word in punchy bass, and it does drop off at very low frequency, and has a slight high response to one note, but for <£150, it fits under the passenger seat and does exactly the job I wanted it for.

Which model is it?

It was this one...

It fits under the seat, but I pushed it forward to butt up against the cross brace in the floor pan, so it pokes out a touch if the seat is far back. But my Muz mat covers it anyway.
I powered it directly from my Pioneer head unit (sub outputs), but it has a gain and crossover control anyway, so you can feed it from a normal RCA out. I just set the crossover to its max frequency (125Hz) and use the crossover adjustment in the head unit to control it.
