Search for "self adhesive rubber feet uk" on Google and you'll find this on the first page

http://www.bumperstops.co.uk/

As for glue, if you use Superglue, make sure you use the right sort. They make one specifically for binding plastic & rubber. Got mine from Halfords (and I tried the strips with my aeroscreen, they fell off on the way to Le Mans after an hour or so in convoy ) I think the circular stops will work better.

Rob.........you're a star mate!. That site looks exactly like the one I need. Just shows how crap my internet searching skills are!. Thanks also for the tip on the glue.........to date been using regular superglue but may need to look for a more specific variant as you say!.

Thanks again!.

Guys and Girls

I have the answer to your problems I have a Muz screen (or is it Ricks I am not sure) it is 7/8 one (I will post a pic tonight but I am at work at the moment). Anyway I got some little rubber feet for the bottom of chair legs etc, etc from Hobby Craft. These, like your rubber stoppers did not last very long and popped off/ moved when closing the secret compartment after a while. So I went looking all over for a solution and again Hobby Craft came up trumps. They sell adhesive backed foam (they are for kids to make pictures with and come in loads of colours including bright red for those with a full red interior). Anyway I took the screen out of the car and measured the width of the plastic screen and then cut 2 long strips off the black foam. Simply removed the backing paper and applied to both edges of the screen. Works perfectly and has some give in the foam to stop shatter points. I have used it for serveral months although not in substantial heat but should be fine. I also applied a strip to the bottom of the screen where it is attached to the secret compartment stopping it scratch the plastic lid and the underside of the screen. It also quietens it down when driving top down over rough or uneven roads. You will notice how quiet it is afterwards I can assure you. The rattle was so annoying before that I would shove something down the side to stop it moving before I broke something after being driven to distraction with the noise. If I did not find this solution then I might have got rid it was that bad.

If anyway can't get to a Hobby Craft then I have some to spare which if you pm your address I can send you some. Any store that provides sewing kits, framing and cross stitch, coloured craft paper and the like might carry it though.

I will take a pic later

Hope this helps.

Rob

Cheers Rob!.

In the meantime.......if anyone is interested in the bumper solution........Bumperstops will not supply in small quantities (ie. they'll only do several thousand!) but a related company will provide smaller quantities.........go to www.prezzies.co.uk who are apparently in the same building as Bumperstops and supply on a much smaller scale.

Right I have taken some pics they are not brilliant - black against black does not show up very well . basically the adhesive backed black foam is along the edge of the screen. The pics show the compartment lid up so that you can see the edge.

I think a sheet costs 79p

Cheers Rob

Cheers Rob!. I'm still following up on the bumpers to see if they do right size, colour options etc. etc. and will post findings once I do. Then it'll be decision time!.

BTW.........looks like your screen is a Muz or Aus one (can't remember who does them) as it's fixed and does not need the OEM bracket. Mine is a Rick's one that fits into the stock bracket. At the end of the day, both solutions should work for both screen types!.

Its a muz one!

Looking at the installation destructions for my Aus one its all in the gluing. It does not mention any bump stops of foam strips. It makes a lot of emphasis on ensuring all the touching surfaces of the bracket and the screen are well glued and clamped whilst they set. Redid mine over the weekend so I will let you know shortly if it has worked!

PS last one shattered after stress crack appeared!
