Default Upgrade

Okay so i've had my S for near on 3 months now and i'm already thinking of upgrading to a newer model. This car is out of this world. However i am thinking of going down the modding route before i sell.

My question is whether or not modifying an S will actually add value or am i just constricting myself to specialist buyers only. I know it really depends on the mod but i am probably looking at stuff like wheels, CAI's, spoilers, calipers, discs. This can be expensive so i am trying to justify the cost really. Will i pay for that extra bit of individuality later on by definately not getting back what i invest into the car?

I suppose my question can be summarised in whether or not you would go out and by a car that is totally original over a car that had been modified?

I thought this when i bought my car in june and have since decided to keep all the bits i take off and when i come to sell put it back to standard and only leave the bits you cannot take off, spoilers discs and suspension. it seems that people prefer to buy standard cars as they can make their own mark on the car, unless you find somebody who likes your tastes.

You won't get your money back and maybe find the car harder to sell. I wanted a modded car and was very lucky with my purchase. The previous owner has spent a lot of time and money and probably got less than 20% back of what he spent. It also limited the market the car would appeal to.

In answer if you want to modify for your benefit then do it but don't expect to recoupe your investment. If you keep all the original parts then when you come to sell it put it back to original and sell the parts. You will get some money back and more than leaving the parts on the car.

I would still (and am still) modifying my s but for my benefit and know the money will never be recouped.
