Default Urgent: tow hook thread siz/pitch

Entering the S2000 in its first sprint at the weekend and was getting the car ready last night only to realise that I don't have a tow hook!

Waiting to hear back from Honda garage but Demon Tweaks have FIA approved ones for less money that I will get if Honda garage don't have in stock.

I see that the S2000 is M12 thread so that's fine but what is the pitch of the thread? 1.5 or 1.75 to make sure that the OMP hook will actually fit before I order 2 for delivery tomorrow.

Cheers,

Dave

Panic over, 'think' I have it sorted as Demon tweeks confirmed the thread size of the OMP hook and found the s2000 size after another search so hopefully all fit.

If not, I'll maybe just have to drill out the thread and put a bolt on either side but hopefully not the case as was hoping to have a removable solution.

Cheers,

Dave

B#gger! Everything I found said it was M12 x 1.75 (which is what the OMP) took eye is so I've gone for 2 of those!

Looks like I'll have to drill out the thread and bolt them in them!

Oh shit then maybe you're right, I thought they were the same as the wheel nuts.

I'll go and check, brb

Phew! Found a few different answers when I searched but did stumble across one company in America that listed the after market tow eye as fitting the s2000 and they showed the thread pitch.

If it screws in then great as I can pop them in and out easily but if I have to do something more permanent with them then so be it I guess.

Cheers,

Dave

I tried screwing a wheel nut on mine and it stopped after a turn so if 1.75 is the only other option than that's what they are.

You could maybe just borrow some from someone on here?

Soundsike they should fit then (cheers).

Got a few events coming up so these won't go to waste but if I didn't get anything sorted I was going to be begging to borrow someone's. Managed to track one down at local breakers but that still left me one short.

Will update this once I know they fit in case anyone else is ever searching

Cheers,

Dave
